What is a growing bundle?

A growing curriculum bundle is a collection of units that is partially complete, but that the author (that’s me!) has intentions of adding to in the near future. If you purchase the growing bundle before the new units are added, you’ll receive FREE access to those new units as soon as they are added to TPT. Once you purchase the growing bundle, you get lifetime access to updates.

The growing bundle is currently listed at $310. As soon as I add each unit, the price will rise. The sooner you buy, the better the deal.

What units are currently included?

What units are you planning to add in the future?

The units that will be coming in 2024 are:

  • Unit 17: Mammalia (coming mid-to-late May 2024)

If you purchase the growing bundle, you will receive the Mammals Unit FOR FREE when it is published.

When will you be adding the units?

I cannot make any promises on timelines. For the sake of transparency, I created my own timeline to finish the curriculum by the end of May of 2024 and I have stayed on track with that timeline. As a HUGE disclaimer: Life is unpredictable. I am mom to two tiny humans and we have been thrown a few wildcards in our life in the past. I cannot and do not guarantee that I will finish the full curriculum or any units in any specific timeframe.

For this reason, if you purchase the growing bundle, you are only paying for the units that are already included. The price does not reflect the cost of unit 17 that will be added in the future. This frees me up to keep creating units at the pace that fits the ebbs and flows of my life (and not feel the pressure to finish a unit by a specific date because people have pre-paid for it). If having a fully finished curriculum is a requirement for you, please wait to purchase until the curriculum is complete.

What is included in each unit?

  • 4 to 7 page detailed pacing guide
  • PowerPoint or presentation through Google Slides™ with editable text and teacher lecture notes
  • Fill-in-the-blank notes packet
  • Engaging activities for each and every day (each major unit includes between 10 and 20 activities, including escape rooms, gallery walks, virtual field trips, and more)
  • Labs (ex. living planarian lab, living earthworm lab, arthropod modeling lab, living fish lab, and more)
  • Dissections (earthworm, squid, crayfish, dogfish shark, frog, rat (coming May 2024))
  • An editable test, answer sheet, and key

Print or digital? 99% of resources are available in BOTH print and digital forms through Google Slides™. Every notes packet, lab, and activity includes a digital version through Google Slides™ with textboxes ready for students to type in their answers and click submit! A very small number of resources are only available in print form due to the nature of those resources (ex. sorting cards, crossword puzzles).

Can this be modified for a half-year course? Absolutely! The curriculum is activity based, giving you the ability to pick and choose which activities you want to include. The text included on the notes is also editable, so you can adjust the notes to your schedule. Here are a few easy suggestions to shorten the curriculum.

  • Skip Unit 1 and Unit 2 completely. (save 11 days)
  • At the end of each unit, I include an optional day to complete an escape room. Skip the escape rooms. (save 14 days)
  • Skip the myth or fact challenges at the beginning of the unit. (save 8 days)
  • Instead of having students complete projects during in-class time, have them complete them on their own time. (save 10-ish days)
  • Be choosy with your dissections. Rather than including all dissections, pick one or two. (save 10-ish days)
  • Skip the videos and companion worksheets. (save 5 days)
  • Assign the coloring packets for homework instead of giving students a full class period to work on them. (save 10-ish days)
  • I have budgeted a full day for each test on the pacing guides, but historically my students finish tests with 10 – 20 minutes left in class. Use this time to get a head start on notes or the myth or fact activity for the next unit! (save 5-ish days)

Who do I have in mind while I’m developing this curriculum?

  • Teachers who teach a full-year zoology course… and teachers who teach a half-year course! One goal I have for this curriculum is for it to be flexible.
  • Teachers who currently teach zoology and want a streamlined, engaging, activity-packed curriculum
  • Teachers who don’t currently teach zoology but are thrown the opportunity to start a new elective course
  • Teachers who would love to teach zoology and want a curriculum to share with admin to get the ball rolling
  • Parents who want an activity-based and easy-to-implement course for their homeschooled students
